Provost’s Ethics Colloquium

The 2025 Provost’s Ethics Colloquium is focused on “The Future of Higher Education” and will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, in the Lory Student Center Theatre. Keynote speakers include Jay Akridge and David Hummels, economists at Purdue University.

Mandatory training for federally-funded researchers

Federal funding agencies now require researchers to take research security training both prior to proposal submission and on a rolling 12-month basis during the award performance period. Training must be completed by Oct. 1

The Symposium registration now open

Registration is now open for The Symposium 2025, happening Nov. 3-6. Experience an immersive week of incredible workshops, powerful guest speakers, and thoughtful events centered around access, success, and community well-being for employees, students, and community members. 

 

New Student Disability Center instructor portal

The SDC instructor portal will serve as a tool to more efficiently support instructors with reviewing accommodation letters, viewing and exporting lists of students and their accommodations, and uploading exams that will be taken in the SDC Accessible Testing Center.

Please remember the Warner College deadline for review and guaranteed timely submission of proposals is a minimum of 10 business days prior to the sponsor deadline. For full submission details, please click the link. 

 

Reminder from Business Services about Common Forms

Common forms for the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support are now required by more federal sponsors such as the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.

Can AI be Helpful for Students? TEF session with Tian Guo

Join Tian Guo, assistant professor in the Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources, for a session on AI in the classroom on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 12-1 p.m. in MSNR Room 345. This session is open to anyone who is interested in participating, but prior registration is required.

Ramfunder applications now open

Ramfunder is Colorado State University’s official crowdfunding platform, and it’s an easy tool our CSU community can use to create fundraising campaigns for causes and needs we care about. Applications for the fall cohort, which takes place in October, are now being accepted until Sept. 15.

The Office of the Vice President for Research is hosting an event series focused on the development and pursuit of university-industry (U-I) partnerships to drive the research enterprise forward through a fluid federal funding landscape. Office of Engagement and Extensions annual forum

The Office of Engagement and Extension invites its Extension faculty and staff, and campus colleagues, to their annual forum Oct. 6-9, 2025. Participants must be registered by Sept. 15.

Sarah King

Sarah King, research scientist with the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory in the Warner College of Natural Resources, recently published two papers on wild horses and donkeys in Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology and in Animal Behaviour.

Steven Fassnacht, a professor in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability, provided a personal view on the history of snow hydrology in the paper “Research that has shaped the thinking of midcareer snow hydrologists,” which was published in the Hydrological Sciences Journal in July 2025.

Ellen Wohl, professor in the Department of Geosciences, recently published a book in with the Princeton University Press titled, Following the Bend: How to Read a River and Understand Its Nature, "an engaging and thought-provoking introduction to river science."
