All levels of students in the SON are eligible if they have completed a research study or project at the time of abstract submission. If you have students who will be completing a study or project, please encourage them to submit an abstract. As a primary faculty mentor/advisor, we ask that you sign the faculty attestation form that is attached indicating you have reviewed and approved the student abstract.

Several partners of the School of Nursing have been designated as Points of Light by the Injury Prevention Research Center at Emory for their exemplary work in reducing injury and violence in Georgia. These individuals and organizations were honored at the organization’s recent 30th anniversary celebration. We offer our heartfelt congratulations to:
• Christopher Wolf Crusade, for their tireless efforts to embed Life Care Specialists to support the care coordination of patients at risk for opioid use disorders.
• Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition - Bennett Center, for their work in reducing the impact of HIV/ADIS, Hepatitis C, STI and substance use with vulnerable communities.
• Rana Bayakly, chief epidemiologist of chronic disease for the Georgia Department of Public Health, for her dedication to facilitating the use of state-held injury and violence data in prevention research and programs.
• Jan Christiansen, executive director of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, for her 20 years of commitment to domestic violence prevention policy, advocacy and programming. We are honored to work alongside all of these partners. Congratulations, everyone! |

As you may know, efforts of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) have been underway for over a year now to find a robust grants management system that will provide ease and insight for the pre and post aspects of the grant management process.

Last semester, Emory began a campaign to have all researchers’ Open Researcher and Contributor IDs (ORCID) linked to Emory University. As a reminder, ORCID is a global not-for-profit organization that offers researchers a unique digital persistent identifier (DPI) that accurately connects you to your scholarly work throughout your career. Getting and using a free ORCID iD can help researchers save time and get credit for their work in funding, publishing, and research reporting workflows. Funding organizations, including the NIH, require ORCID iDs or similar identifiers to apply for and receive federal funds.
