Douglass' Mighty Ducks Marching Band performed recently at a pep rally for students at the Baer School. The Ducks hyped up the Baers with music and dancing to motivate and cheer them on towards a successful end of the school year. |

Bard hosted Shock Trauma's Stop the Bleed Program. Students learned life-saving techniques to stop bleeding, including wound compression, packing, and tourniquet application. Those who completed the practical training received certificates of completion. Thanks to Community School Coordinator Ms. Stacy for arranging. |

| Empowerment Academy hosted their annual Spring Production, "The Journey," which was written by Cammeron Williams, the music teacher. |

Western hosted #407Day to celebrate their school number. The first 200 students who arrived on time and in uniform received 2 tickets each for admission to the festivities and a complimentary Rita's Italian Ice, courtesy of Rita's Overlea. The event featured a cafeteria takeover with DJ Queen HD and resource sharing/sign-up with partners Divaneering and LifeBridge Health. |

In third-grade science at Hampstead Hill, students explore the similarities and differences among seeds through experiments and hands-on activities. Working in groups, they create projects to demonstrate their understanding of seed characteristics. This collaborative approach fosters comprehension and critical thinking skills. |

Eighth-grade US History students at Franklin Square met with District 9 Councilman John T. Bullock to address community concerns. They discussed vacant houses, juvenile justice, food deserts, voter registration, crime reduction, school resources, and term limits. The students emphasized their vigilance in observing his actions for future voting decisions. |

Middle school art students at KIPP collaborated with Mr. Trae to create the "I Am" installation. Each student created a piece that expressed their individuality. |

Students from 12 elementary schools came together for the annual Spring Garden Summit at Great Kids Farm. They made their own herbal teas, explored garden-inspired movement and mindfulness practices, built pollinator habitats, and tasted farm-fresh honey! Workshops prepared students to bring back knowledge and skills to their own school gardens and communities. |

The Inaugural Green Team School-wide cleanup was conceived by Marcus Pullen, President of Moravia Park's Green Team. The entire school came out to support this initiative. In total they picked up over 760 pounds of trash on their 20 acre campus.

| Liberty hosted a Career Day for grades kindergarten to fifth-grade. Each class was given an opportunity to be exposed to hands-on work experiences, including reporting a mock news capture with journalist Nikki Mayo. |

Friends of The Midtown Academy sponsored a table for our eighth-grade girls to attend the Annual Baltimore High Tea at Martin's West Caterers sponsored by the Afro American Newspaper Publications. They met the Honorable Congressman Kweisi Mfume at the event. |

Garret Heights hosted a family engagement night where parents and guardians could meet, share what they love about the school, and brainstorm on what can be better.

REACH! hosted a Family Game Night with a Popup Prom Shop. Families played interactive games, video games, and also had the opportunity to select a free prom dress. Thanks to Ms. McKinney, Community School Coordinator and team for coordinating. |

| Hampstead Hill's elementary teams swept the top two trophies in their grade sections at the Maryland State Championship! The second- and third-grader team of just three players: Cameron C (2nd gr.), Marvin (3rd gr.), and Adeline (3rd gr.) won second place.
The fourth- and fifth-grade team: Grayson (4), Valeri (5), Timothy (5) , MJ (4), and Luca (5) won first place. |

Charlie, a fourth grade student at Francis Scott Key was the Baltimore City District Winner for the Maryland Municipal League’s (MML) annual “If I Were Mayor” essay contest. Charlie, his family, and his teacher Ms. Gauthier traveled to the Maryland State House in Annapolis for a ceremony celebrating winners from all over the state. Charlie was honored by Governor Wes Moore with a citation and plaque acknowledging his work. Mayor Brandon Scott also sent Charlie a city citation acknowledging his dedication to public service!

As part of the new partnership between the Orioles and City Schools, students from Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School have had the unique opportunity to attend batting practice before Oriole games, interact with players and staff, and enjoy an evening of baseball. We caught up with student reporters Payton and Horatio who led us through this interactive and exciting experience. | |
